IPL2018 KOLKTA KNIGHT RIDERS SQUAD
DAY 1
Kolkata
Knight Riders entered the auction with a bang and they won the signature of
Mitchell Starc for 9.4 Cr. KXIP were also involved in bidding but KKR outlasted
them and won the signature for the star Australian pacer, who last played for
Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2017, Starc parted ways with Royal Challengers
Bangalore in order to focus on International cricket.
Kolkata Knight Riders got back their star player Chris Lynn as they saw off the challenge from Delhi Daredevils and also Royal Challengers Bangalore. KKR bought Lynn for 9.6 crore.
Dinesh Karthik once again raked in the moolah in the auction as this time he was sold for a massive amount of Rs 7.4 Cr to Kolkata Knight Riders.
After an intense bidding war between Mumbai and Rajasthan, Robin Uthappa was sold to the defending champion after they out bid the first time champions. Mumbai thought they had landed Uthappa for Rs 6.4 Cr but Kolkata Knight Riders jumped in the last minute and used the RTM card to poach him.
CSK thought they had bought Chawla for 4.2 cr. But at the last minute, KKR come forward to retain the player and Chawla will once again play for Kolkata.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the race to sign Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav for Rs 5.80 Crore, however again Knight Riders used their RTM card. Kolkata have retained the core of their squad and this is another successful addition. Ishank Jaggi also went to KKR for 20 lakh.
KKR have also bought U-19 stars Kamlesh Nagarkotti (3.2 crore) and Shubman Gill (1.8 crore).
Nitish Rana (3.4 crore) and Ankit Rajpoot (3 crore) were the other players bought by the Knight Riders.
